MCNMG has hired our first staff position! Avery Friend (she/her), our new Organizational Assistant, will be working with the Board and our volunteers to help streamline information, develop marketing materials, support programming initiatives, and provide administrative and logistical assistance where needed.

Originally from the New Orleans area, Avery has been living in Maine since 2017 and is currently working at the Joseph McKeen Center for the Common Good at Bowdoin College. This role, as well as her previous work in working to eliminate food and basic need insecurity in the Portland area, has allowed her to engage with a broad range of nonprofit and community-led organizations across Southern and Mid Coast Maine, and to connect directly with students, colleagues, clients, and families of all backgrounds.

 She’s delighted to be part of the MCNMG team and to support the powerful community-building work MCNMG plays such an important role in.  And we are delighted to have her and look forward to the experience, perspective, and expertise she brings.
